Quakertown Community High School this afternoon celebrated 12 student-athletes who announced their college choices.
The athletes represent seven different sports programs, a record for one signing day, said Sylvia Kalazs, the high school’s athletic director.
The students are:
- Makenzie Adamson, Widener University (field hockey)
- Hallie Frederick, University of New Haven (softball)
- Brianna Lefkoski, Moravian College (softball)
- Meghan Woods, Misericordia University (swimming)
- Julianne Redmond, Cedar Crest College (swimming)
- Olivia Williams, Manhattan College (lacrosse)
- Ashlyn Hickey, Millersville University (track)
- Matt Tuley, Ursinus College (baseball)
- Cody Barberio, West Chester University (baseball)
- Cole Mehrman, Penn State - Harrisburg (baseball)
- Samantha Barkholtz, Thomas Jefferson University (soccer)
- Melina Jagiello, Dickinson University (soccer)
Each of the student-athletes’ coaches praised their players, not only as athletes but as people. All were commended for their leadership skills. Coaches who spoke were Mike Koch, girls soccer; Kelly Driscoll, field hockey; Nicole Donnelly, girls lacrosse; Jonathan Pallone, baseball; Tony Carty, swimming; Jason Anderson, girls track; and Dave Scott, softball.
