Swimmers excel in SOL championships

Several swimmers set personal bests during the Liberty Division competition.

Maria Wehmeyer also medaled during the competition, held February 13th at Upper Dublin High School. She finished third in the 100 Backstroke in 1:03:92.

“We had some fantastic performances,” Coach Tony Carty said. “I’m so proud of each of the swimmers.”

Mr. Carty said team captains Danny Litvinchuk and Hannah Biel provided “awesome leadership” and remarked that “coaches from other teams complimented us on the unity and fight we have as a team.”

In addition to his 100 back championship in 53:32, Caleb finished second in the 200 IM in 1:59:03. He qualified for Districts in both events with his personal best times. Lilly’s school records were in the 50 freestyle, third place in 24:97, and 100 freestyle, seventh place in 54:54.

On the girls side, Liv Litvinchuk, Natalie Wisniewski and Maria Wehmeyer each scored two personal records in the championships. Risa Palmer, Natalie Miller and Ashlynn Butcher each had one personal best, as did the 200 Free Relay A and B.

On the boys side, Danny, Connor Frisch, Kai Butcher and Josh Einolf each scored two personal records along with the 200 Medley Relay and 400 Free Relay.
