QCHS, which finished third overall in the 16-team district meet, had four champions, Mason Ziegler, Collin Gaj, Zach Borzio, and Calvin Lachman.
Six Quakertown Community High School wrestlers qualified for the South East 3A Regionals at Souderton with their performances at the PIAA District One-East Class 3A wrestling tournament.
Mason Ziegler (121 pounds), Collin Gaj (145), Zach Borzio (152) and Calvin Lachman (215) each won the district championship while Gavin Carroll, second at 139, and Ike Williams, fourth at 114, also qualified for the regionals.
Gavin, a sophomore, fell 3-2 in the championship round to Jake Neill of Central Bucks South. Logan Pfister, fifth at 128, and Wayne Strzelski, sixth at 107, just missed the cut for the regionals.
Collin, who pinned Neshaminy’s Beknazar Baiyshbekov at 1:16, was named the tournament’s outstanding wrestler. Pennridge won the 16-team competition with Council Rock South second and Quakertown third.
The district championship was the third for Mason. Collin and Calvin each earned their second straight district title.
