QCHS Families, At 8:53 AM the fire alarm at Quakertown Community High School activated and students safely evacuated the building. The Quakertown Fire Department and other local first responders arrived swiftly to ensure our safety. After about 30 minutes the building was deemed safe by emergency officials and students were allowed to return to class. The alarm was caused by an experiment in a chemistry lab which resulted in smoke and a strong odor. No one was injured. Thank you to our community’s first responders for their quick action, and thank you to our students who treated this situation with the seriousness that it deserved. Sincerely, Mattias van 't Hoenderdaal Principal

In observation of Alcohol Awareness Month, Quakertown Community School District, Quakertown Borough Police and Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) are holding a virtual meeting on April 24 at 7:00 p.m. for parents of middle school and high school students. MADD’s Power of Parents is a program that empowers parents to have ongoing and intentional conversations about the dangers and consequences of underage drinking and marijuana and other drug use. Each year, underage drinking is responsible for more than 4,300 deaths and can lead to early addiction as well as many other dangerous outcomes, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Studies show that youth say their parents are the leading influence on their decisions about drinking. Please join us for this important and potentially life-saving conversation.
