This week, we are celebrating teachers from across the QCSD for Teacher Appreciation Week! Join the celebration and send a kind note to your QCHS teacher, past or present, and we’ll make sure they receive it! You may even see it posted here, like this kind message for Mr. Amen from one of his 10th graders:

“I want to celebrate this teacher (Mr. Amen) because he helped me and many others with struggles and through dark times in our lives. Even when he’s not having a good day himself, he never fails to make others smile. He is a very smart, kind-hearted, and straightforward person, and we all need someone like that in our lives. Anyone who has had his class would say that it was probably the best class they’ve been in because he always finds a way to make it interesting. I thank him for always being there for his students, whom he doesn’t just think of as his students but as a family as well. Whoever is lucky enough to have him in their lives should cherish the moments they have with him because time goes by faster than you think. Thank you for being you.”

Congratulations to QCHS senior, Brianna Janney, on being named the March Student of the Month at UBCTS!

Brianna has been passionate about a career in healthcare since the eighth grade, when a school tour solidified her interest in the field.
She credits her success to the encouragement and support of her mother, Mrs. Deily, as well as Mrs. Konency, both of whom have motivated her to consistently strive for excellence.

Following graduation, Brianna plans to attend Moravian University to pursue a degree in nursing. She aspires to become a nurse practitioner in a trauma unit, a fast-paced environment well suited to her strengths and interests.

Congratulations, Brianna, on this well-deserved recognition!

“Meet The Instruments Night” and parent meeting will be held Tuesday April 21st from 6-7:00pm at Strayer Middle School. This event is for any student who might like to learn a musical instrument next year in the band and orchestra program! (Current band and orchestra students do not need to attend this event unless you are considering learning a new instrument.)

At "Meet the Instruments Night" your child will get to try out their top 3 instrument choices before you enroll in the program and get an instrument for them. Parents will also learn more about the QCSD band and orchestra program, get to meet the teachers, learn about instrument rentals, and ask any questions.

You must pre-register for this event, so we will know our anticipated attendance and can provide the correct amount of supplies (mouthpieces, reeds, etc.).

Please click the link below to register:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfp6cv8KWKc_RzqztqbtccME9wXF0wfzLUHlRczFxORMjmIcw/viewform

*Registering for “Meet The Instruments Night” does not enroll your child in the program. It simply allows the students an opportunity to try out the instruments before you rent, purchase, or borrow an instrument.

If you have questions, please contact your school’s music teacher. Visit qcsd.org/music and click the CONTACT page to find their contact information.

There’s an instrument for everyone, we just need to find the right fit for your child!
