In observation of Alcohol Awareness Month, Quakertown Community School District, Quakertown Borough Police and Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) are holding a virtual meeting on April 24 at 7:00 p.m. for parents of middle school and high school students. MADD’s Power of Parents is a program that empowers parents to have ongoing and intentional conversations about the dangers and consequences of underage drinking and marijuana and other drug use. Each year, underage drinking is responsible for more than 4,300 deaths and can lead to early addiction as well as many other dangerous outcomes, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Studies show that youth say their parents are the leading influence on their decisions about drinking. Please join us for this important and potentially life-saving conversation.
