21 QCHS students earn medals in SkillsUSA events

Fourteen QCHS students advance to states with Gold Medal performances in District 11 technical and leadership competition.

Twenty-one Quakertown Community High School students earned medals at the SkillsUSA District 11 competition in Allentown on Friday, February 4. Fourteen of the students finished in first place. Those Gold Medal winners advance to the SkillsUSA Pennsylvania State Leadership Conference in Hershey on April 6.

These students all attend the Upper Bucks County Technical School with fellow students from Palisades and Pennridge. In the SkillsUSA competition, they faced off against Bethlehem Area Vocational-Technical School, Career Institute of Technology, Lehigh Career & Technical Institute, Monroe Career & Technical Institute, and Colonial Academy in 30 technical and leadership competitions.

Twenty-three students from UBCTS placed first, including 14 from QCHS, which also had five second-place medalists and two third-place medalists.
