QROCK

QRock Overview

QRock is QCHS’s School-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (SWPBIS) framework which is an evidence-based three-tiered framework to improve and integrate all of the data, systems, and practices affecting student outcomes every day. Tier 1 practices and systems through the QRock framework establish a foundation of regular, proactive support while preventing unwanted behaviors. Tier 2 practices and systems support students who are at risk for developing more serious problem behaviors before those behaviors start. These supports help students develop the skills they need to benefit from core programs at the school. Lastly, At Tier 3 of the framework, students receive more intensive, individualized support to improve their behavioral and academic outcomes. At this level, schools rely on formal assessments to determine a student’s need.Schools provide these universal supports to all students, school-wide.

QRock’s main goal involves creating a welcoming and safe environment utilizing positive reinforcement to improve social, emotional, behavioral, and academic outcomes for all students. In order to do this, QRock creates lessons for all students that explicitly teach appropriate behavior, analyzes school behavioral data to evaluate areas of need, utilizes a schoolwide reinforcement system to recognize and reward appropriate behavior, and holds fun school events and opportunities to celebrate student successes.
